Colorbond® and other factory pre-finished steel products Painting, Colour change and re-bonding of new colours STEP 1: SET UP Protecting your environment
along with the safety of our workers is paramount. In order to ensure job
safety we divert the down pipes to protect storm water run off. Any over
hanging trees will also need to be trimmed back. STEP 2: STRIPPER This step is only applicable if the surface coating is
delaminating and peeling. The stripper is specially formulated to remove the
degraded material only and is applied to the roof using a low pressure pump.
This is not a standard paint stripper. To learn more about the stripper follow the link.
STEP 3: WATER BLAST To thoroughly clean the roof
surface a powerful water blast is required. The pressure required is approx
5000psi. This will remove any dirt and contamination deposits on your roof. STEP 4: PRIMER If the roof has been stripped it
will require an etch primer to adhere the top coat to the roof sheeting. This
product is designed to bite into the roof sheeting and the top coat will
adhere to the primer. STEP 5: TOP COAT Two coats of the acrylic lacquer
top coat are applied to the roof. The first coat is generally applied across
the roof perpendicular to the corrugation. The final coat is applied parallel
to the corrugation. Where possible this coat is sprayed in a continual stream
from gutter to ridge line. This continual stream will minimize the overspray
lines that can occur with this type of coating. STEP 6: RELAX Sit back and relax knowing that
Restyle has done the job that we quoted at a fixed price and cleaned up after
ourselves before we left. ß Complete our enquiry form to request a quotation or ask a
question. One of our friendly staff members will phone
you back to discuss your requirements. |
The REBOND process will vary
depending on the reason for the rebonding of the colour coating. If the colour has faded,
uniformly or unevenly, then steps 2 and 5 are not required.
All steps are undertaken if the
coating is delaminating or the roof has a stripped appearance.
